Issue 3 Rips Off Ohio Taxpayers - NY Study
The main problem that I see with the Ohio Earn and Learn proposal, state issue 3, is that it grants a monopoly enshrined in Ohio's constitution to just nine individuals. If Ohio is to allow full-blown casino gambling, which needs more discussion, we should auction off a number of casino licenses to the highest bidders. A study for New York state describes the benefits of doing so.

Hi there, I'm with Yes on 3 campaign. You make an interesting point, and I'll check out the PDF.
Just a thought: You might consider supporting Issue 3 now, with the intent of changing that aspect later. I don't have a real opinion about that, just having not considered it, except that it would be optimal to have the owners be inside Ohio.
For the time being, Issue 3 would certainly accomplish that much. The most important thing should be keeping those dollars within the state. It's a heck of a lot better than having Ohioans drive out of state to fund someone else's education.

Econ 101 teaches supply and demand; when demand for a service or goods increases, the price will rise.
Issue 3 will increase the demand for higher education. Ergo the cost will rise, for all students, whether subsidized or not.
Full disclosure seems to have conveniently overlooked this unintended consequence!
