Finally, Some Relief for Military Families

Bizzy Blog has a great column on new federal legislation to protect military families from predatory lenders.

As readers here know, I lobbied extensively in Ohio on this issue.  If folks like outgoing Attorney General Jim Petro had been doing their jobs in the first place, this legislation would not be even necessary.

I and many others repeatedly asked the AG's office to investigate companies that set up next to military bases and disguise themselves as "official military" finance companies.  He repeatedly refused to do so.

Why?  It was obvious.  He was receiving campaign contributions $10,000 at a time from these rogue companies. Soon, he will likely take a job with a law firm representing these same companies.
