Knox County Ohio Commissioners Continue to Live Up to Jackass Award
Yesterday I awarded my very own Knox County Ohio Commissioners my very first Ohio Government Jackass Award for their failure to clear the sidewalks and the steps in front of the County Services Building and the County Courthouse of ice, snow, and slush. As it turns out the Commissioners had one of their biweekly meetings yesterday and Commissioner Allen Stockberger expressed concern that the maintenance department needed to clear some snow before the offices opened.
BUT HERE'S THE F#$%ING PROBLEM! Good old Allen was worried about the county employee parking lots where he and his fellow overpaid, underworked county officials park. Unf@#$%ingbelievable!
In other business, the commissioners discussed with county maintenance supervisor John Alberts whether it will be possible to plow all of the county lots in various locations by the time those offices start to work. Alberts said that at this point, he was having trouble getting himself, his staff and their limited equipment everywhere they were supposed to be, in the allotted time allowed, without going into overtime.
Link to the full story is here.
Poor, poor, poor John Alberts and his overworked staff. I'm betting that there are at least one hundred unemployed residents in Knox County that would kill for this job and its many benefits and wouldn't complain about putting in a little extra time if needed, unpaid. Even better, how about eliminating these jobs, selling the equipment, and contracting the maintenance work out to private companies here in the county. I'm betting that they would get it done.
Jackasses.
