State Senate Candidate Thom Collier Admitted He Owed Taxes Before He Denied He Owed Taxes

This weekend, embattled, ethically challenged, tax deadbeat and State Senate candidate Thom Collier made the following statement concerning the over $12,000 in taxes that he owed to the IRS:

"There were never unpaid or unfiled taxes."

-  Thom Collier, Mount Vernon News, April 3, 2010

Unfortunately for Thom, this statement contradicts the very personal financial disclosure reports that he must file every year with the State of Ohio.  In fact, in both the 1999 report and in the 2000 report, Taxin' Thom disclosed that he owed in excess of $1,000 to the IRS.

The 1999 report can be viewed here.  The 2000 report can be viewed here.

The problem with telling lies, as every fourth grader knows, is that when you start to tell them its hard to keep track.  Whether Thom Collier lied in 1999 and 2000, or he is lying today, what we do know is that he is a liar.  And that he didn't pay his taxes, and then raised ours.
